Since 1764 the house has been home to the finer things in life, and with each new generation of custodians bringing a new vigor and focus to the building there really is nowhere quite like The Eagle House Hotel.

The private house became a hotel in the 1960’s, and has since then been the only place to celebrate life’s milestones in town. Launceston’s premier hostelry was nearly lost to housing developers in 2015. Cheered on by our amazing community, local farmers William and Rebecca Perry took the brave decision to take the hotel on, and have since 2017 been dragging the hotel into the 21st century – it’s been quite a challenge!

In 2019 we were successful in securing some European funding to expand the gin arm of the business, and later that year we were delighted to welcome Bob, our 230 litre bespoke still, designed and made for us to bring you fabulous gin for many years to come. 

The stunning distillery terrace completed our public area renovation and provides the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset, night after night (weather permitting of course!)
